how long will it hurt his score for?
Typically they fall off after 2 years, but it shouldn't effect him too much for anywhere near that long. One extra pull might not be too bad, just don't go crazy.

After 6 months it doesn’t matter much.

+1, not any effect after around 6 months, unless there is some other stuff as late payments, or high balances etc.

When you opt for a 0%APR credit card and you are paying only the minimum for a given period, you are carrying a balance to the next month, with no interest, but you are carrying a balance. Does this situation affect my credit score?
of course, i plan and will pay the balance before the 0%apr will end.

Yes

Could you explain please, if I caring the balance that is less than 30% of the total credit line (yes i always try to keep under 10% but you understand that if I need to use the 0%apr is that I have to) so what could affect my score besides ratio of the 30% ?
Thanks

That's exactly what would affect your score. The ratio between available credit and the credit you're using is responsible for 30% of your score so if that goes up to 30%, your score will drop.

Carrying the balance will lower your score temporally but not a big deal.

Additionally, I think he's confusing utilization, with carrying a balance.

Additionally, I think he's confusing utilization, with carrying a balance.
If you carry a balance, you're automatically going to have higher utilization.

True, but if you have high utilization, you're not always carrying a balance, and IINM carrying a balance is more effective to your score than just utilizing a higher percentage.

yes, i understand that. ok, my score will go down temporarily, till I paid off the "carrying balance" of course before the 0%apr offer end (if not I will be a fool) but it will not hurt my HISTORY of my credit with the banks and etc... right?

Have a dispute with ADT security services.

they claim they will put my account up for collections, do they have the ability to damage my credit?

also, any data points how to get rid of their services without paying hefty cancellation fees?

TIA

A collection just showed up on my report... apparently I owe National Grid $155 from 2 years ago. If I pay the collection company will it automatically fall off my report? Is  there something else I need to do? It took my score down from 800 to 700 :(
TIA
