Parking tickets appear to be pretty easy to get off reports nowadays because they were not consumer credit transactions.
Can you elaborate ? You mean it’s easy to dispute ?

What are the chances that the collection agency will report a single parking ticket from out of state ? It went to collections about 6 months ago and it’s not on my credit report as of yet.

Does anyone know how long it takes for your credit score to update once you make big payments on your credit cards? Is it something immediate or does it take months to reflect?
Chase will report right away if you get your balance down to 0.

Discover can do it by request.

Is this still the case with Chase? If I pay down my balance to zero will they immediately report it to the credit bureaus?

Yes, it would (should) be easy to dispute off since it wasn't a consumer credit transaction.  There was a ruling last year that made parking tickets, library fines and stuff not eligible for credit reporting.

No idea about the chances it reports.  In California, they attach parking fines to your vehicle registration to force you to pay.  No idea about other states, and no idea if one state can place that on another state's registration process.

Why not just pay it, especially if you're ever going to the other state again?

I would pay the original $100 ticket but not $240 that they want now. If I call them up they would let me off the hook with just the original ticket. (It’s from Washington DC)
It’s so weird that they can put it in my credit report. How do they know it’s me ? Y can’t it be someone that borrowed my car ? I’m responsible for another ? It only makes sense if the law is that the CAR can’t be parked there but then why should it go on a persona credit report ?

The car is your property, so yes you are responsible for it.

If you ever go back to DC with that vehicle, you risk it getting booted or towed, and it will cost you a lot more $$$.

Like I said, apparently now it shouldn't go on your credit reports.  I don't really care about parking tickets, but I do think library fines SHOULD go on people's credit reports.

Does anyone know if unpaid medical bills specifically from hospitals effect your credit? I'm getting a lot of mixed information... anyone on here have any experience with this ?

There has been talk about future FICO iterations placing less weight on medical debt.  I've also heard of mortgage underwriters overlooking medical debts whereas they would require other collections accounts to be paid before moving forward with the lending process.

Anyone with medical debt(s) should go to creditboards.com, create a login, and start reading/posting in the medical forum.

Definitely not true. Your hospital may not, or your state may have some law or bill of some sort, I have no clue. I just know that this definitely is not accurate across the board.
