called and either the rep didn't understand or just not being helpful.
Sent an email with attachment of the credit drop and and explantation of why the payment was delayed*

The check was sent out on time (have a screenshot of the bill pay) and I guess got lost in the mail, someone must if found it and brought it to a chase branch where the chase rep deposited the check back into my dad's account! (Is that even legal??)
In this case I think you can most probably succeed , just try to document it all .
I was the Best, still the Best, and will always be the Best.

My father's credit dropped by 100points for a late mortgage payment. (1 month late)
Anything I can do to get his score back to what it was?
Can the mortgage company do something?
The mortgage company can have it removed. Search good will letter at creditboards.com
Many have had success with this.

It looks like there are some not such good changes coming to the FICO scoring system.

The new UltraFICO will look at your bank info to see your assets and checking account / savings account transactions.

While this might help those with thin FICO files, it seems like it will hurt those whose incomes have gone down or those who have inflated their assets etc.
See more info here: https://www.fico.com/en/products/ultrafico-score

I think you will have the ability to turn this on or off, but I can see banks offering products conditionally only if you have this feature turned on.

i have a few cards with balances that i would like to close. how does closing a card that still has a balance affect your credit score? will it make the utilization 100% or it wont be counted?

I like to pay down my balances 2-3 times a month. Regardless of "closing" and due dates.

My Credit Karma goes nuts. Every month when i have a balance it goes to around 790-810, but when its $0, it drops to 700-720. And then 2 weeks later, repeat.

Is this legit? Do I always need a balance? On all my cards, or is 1 enough?

A dart board is better than CK for predicting your credit score.

Ok, does that mean i'm good, even though I actually have $0 balance very often?

I have quite the opposite. When my credit utilitization increases from 10% to 12-13% my credit score drops like 40-50 points.

Unless you are actively looking for a mortgage or something don't sweat the small details.

No, past that. Actively looking to signup for 2 Chase Inks, UA Plus, and CSP, while only having avg 1.1 years of history.

On chase credit journey my score dropped 150 points to 654 because I have 15k on last statement on a personal card due in a few days. I will pay it up in its entirety before due date.
Credit utilization now is 18%.
Is this normal? Will it go back up to 800 after I pay on time?

Common sense is not a gift, it is a punishment.
Because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

AMEX stopped providing a FICOscore8. They now provide the Vantagescore3.0, same garbage CK uses!
