So if I am no longer an AU on an account the CRA will just remove the account from my CR if I ask. I have found that not to be the case.
Even if you still are an AU. EQ can be a pain, but TU and EX do it no problem.

So you just tell them you are no longer an AU and they remove the account?

Lets take it a step further. I can just tell them I am no longer the owner of the account and they will remove it?
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

No. You tell them you aren't responsible for the payments on the card and they remove it.
We both know you don't think they'll remove an account because you say you are no longer the owner, so what are you getting at?

How about if I tell them I am no longer responsible for payments on the account. Will the remove my closed accounts.
What I am getting at is CRA are not allowed to remove valid information.

If you were never responsible it was never valid.

That is an interesting angle. Now the CRA has to make a determination if you are responsible for the payments or not.
So I write them a letter saying I was never responsible for the payments. If they don't remove the accurate info from my CR do I sue or take them to arbitration?  :)

Lol. They ask the bank to validate it, and AFAIK Chase is the only one who does that.

Yep. For open AUs, they are the only ones AFAIK who differentiate between open and closed.

I think the point you were missing all along is the fact that when you open a dispute with any 3 credit bureaus, they will first verify with the bank that you are no longer an AU on that account, and then get back to you with an answer if your dispute was valid or not... They aren't just going by your word and instantly removing an account from your report! If it were that easy, we'd all have perfect reports!

I had a Costco personal cc with 250 cash back accumulated. My credit card was closed due to my Costco membership being expired. They state that in order to keep my credit card open I need to have an active membership.
So I renewed my membership, and then called to reinstate the card. I was told that I can reinstate the account but there will be a credit pull.
So my question is:
1. Will reopening the account result in a "new account" on my credit report or only a "pull".
2. If it's only a pull, is it worth reopening the card for the 250(Which is essentially a SUB of 250) or am I rather off letting this go and opening a business card which I can find with a better SUB and would have the same affect on my credit score

TransUnion has my birthday wrong. Just found out, after Barclays kept declining random transactions. How does this kinda thing happen? Should I be worried about fraud?
TIA

AFAIK they don't check your DOB when you charge something.

Either way you should get your DOB fixed.
