Pretty much all devices need the router to give them IP addresses etc.
Including your obi.
The only real way to do this that I can think of would be another router
Are there any non-wifi routers on the market that would be able to daisy chain like what I want to do? I googled it and I see some stuff but I can't tell if they would work.

For any half decent router you should be able to turn off WiFi
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!
