This is an interesting point, because I was wondering why they would do it. It can easily cost them hundreds of millions.

There will probably be a few crazy videos going around on election day, unless Uber puts an effort to keep drivers away from politics

Read the link. Uber is NOT offering free rides. They are partnering with #VoteTogether and Democracy Works to provide free rides to the polls. I imagine that VT and DW will be giving out the promo codes that will likely only work in select targeted areas.
Uber for Campaigns: Any campaign or organization can use our existing Uber for Business offering to purchase and distribute promo codes for rides to the polls on Election Day.
