I just missed the signup bonus spend by a few dollars due to some returns. Anyone have any experience getting them to extend time or anything else?

Since when does returns effect the 5k count, it always worked to buy 5k of products and return which would trigger the bonus and when returned would deduct the 5k earned points, while the bonus remains, but don't suggest that, that's like asking please shut me down!
