So let’s do away with the + and - 1’s. I have been able to refer myself from Blue Business to Amex Aspire without issues. Know of others who did this too, as recent as yesterday.Does not need to be referred from a Hilton card.
correct any MR cards can refer any Amex cards but Hilton can only refer Hilton and spg only spg etc...
Oh I see now. OP only has SPG (Marriott) as the other card. That cannot refer to Hilton.

My wife has the Business Blue Plus (downgraded from a BizPlat)
I thought because the Biz Platinum is a charge card, you can't downgrade it to a credit card? How did you do it?
+1 I think there's a misunderstanding/mistake here, because I don't think that's possible.
The phone agent figured it out, so I can keep my MR balance. There was no second pull.
It's a new card, but since it's a biz card, and amex often doesnt pull it can appear like a proper product change
