Author Topic: New amex Hilton offer 150k (Read 51800 times)

If I upgrade a card today, can I assign an airline, purchase $250 of AA gift cards in $100 and $50 increments, and still get the 2018 credit, even though I just upgraded today?

I'm confused:

I signed up for the Aspire 150k/$4k spend offer and for the Ascend 125k/$2k spend offer. Just hit the spend on the Ascend and I see 150k posted to my HH account as "Aspire Card Bonus Points". I'm still more than $2k away from the spend on that card. Anyone else have such experience? Did they just post the Ascend points as Aspire and randomly give me 25k extra (happens to be that there offer for the Ascend is now 150/$3k), or is that actually my Aspire bonus posting before I hit the spend?

"Aspire Card Bonus Points". But I've only spent ~$1800 on that card, and the offer was $4k spend.

Anyone sure about this? I thought I remembered reading you could do it right away even without getting new card in the mail since numbers stay the same, but not sure and can't easily do $4K spend since spending on a few other cards, so only want to do 1 today if I can triple dip $250.

Just figured it out. A few weeks ago I made a $2500 purchase and return on my Aspire. With some recent spend that out me over $4000. The purchase and return happened the same day, but somehow it still counted toward my $4000.

I thought they don't count returned purchases if you return it before the bonus posts, but maybe the system didn't catch this return as it was for $15 less than the purchase? (The $2500 purchase was in a foreign currency, and it fluctuated by the time the return was processed, resulting in a slightly smaller refund.)

Am I correct to assume that I should spend another $2500 within the first 3 months to stay on Amex's good side, and not just stop spending on that card now?

I have an offer to upgrade my regular Hilton card to aspire and get 150k. I don't see any language anywhere. I know in the old days what it used to be like, but im debating signing up to get the offer and then upgrading this card.
