Scanning large photo
« on: August 22, 2011, 02:19:43 AM »
Hi everyone! I have a large photo thats quite old which Im trying to scan. It's about 26x14 inches. I went to Fedex store but for that size the only have a scanner that the photo gets rolled through. Being that its quite delicate I would like a flat bed scan. Any Ideas who might do that?

I know someone who scanned the picture in parts and then photostiched them together. If you have someone who knows how to work photos on the computer well this should work for you.

You need a place that has a large flatbed scanner. You can also scan each half separately and combine it later in Photoshop. Here's a place in NJ that has a large flatbed: Bergen County Camera, in Westwood, NJ, 201-664-4113. They charge $10 per scan or something like that.

You could also take a picture of it and then use photoshop to work out any rough edges

No. I got their name from a librarian I know who lives in Jersey. I ended up finding someone nearby in Brooklyn to do it.
