Hi all, this is my first post!

I'm new to CC churn and looking to get my first Platinum card before my trip next month. hoping to get some tips/opinions from the experienced users on here

I got an offer for 100k bonus for regular Plat in the mail - debating if I should apply for the MB plat or just take the 100k offer for regular plat, or apply to both since MB Plat is going away

My concerns are...
1. I won't get the 100k offer for regular Plat in the future (If i get the MB Plat first)
2. Can't double dip on the airline fee for MB Plat if they convert the card on Jan 1, 2019

Do you guys know if they ever make the 100k offer to current/previous Plat card holders?

I don't have any American Express card right now, is there another card that you guys would recommend for me to apply with my Plat application? (so that I can keep my points if i have a gap between Plat cards)

An Amex rep told me that my Amex Mercedes Platinum is not eligible to be downgraded, only Regular Platinum's can be downgraded. Is that accurate?

I had such a card converted in the past and it didn't work

Either Apply, Or product change to a lower card if the want to be able to get the Platinum in the future (When there is a better SUB)

Soo.. nobody? Should I just PC to a Vanilla and then downgrade, or is there an easier route?
