Topic Wiki

The Amex Mercedes-Benz Plat has been discontinued. All former MP Plat card have been converted into regular Amex Platinums.

The Amex Mercedes-Benz Plat has all the same benefits as the Amex Plat.

Differences:
Annual fee is $495 $475 instead of $450
$100 Worthless gift certificate for in dealership overpriced tchotchkas from Mercedes-Benz
Link (You cannot use the Certificate online)
(Edit from ae123: Overpriced yes, but not worthless....watches, travel mugs, ice bags, caps, etc.)
You can get a $200 reimbursement for some airline spends, once every calender year.
Global Entry $100 Fee Credit - Global Entry is the US government’s expedited immigration program for frequent travelers. It costs $100 and is good for 5 years.

Unless of course they just let me churn because I'm a blogger ::)

If so, I'm starting a blog tonight. I think I'll name it...

I believe it is possible that starwood still automatically (the computer) lets churning. But if for some reason there's a glitch and you don't get the bonus, the CSRs won't let you get it bec. of the new rules. That would explain the contrast between my friend's and Dan's experience. Unless you believe in conspiracies (Blogger gets treated better  ::) )

Hence why churning has always been YMMV.

Is that addendum to your CR part of the package of your hosting services, or was that additional?

Apparently there have been a lotta "glitches" then.

Did Amex 3BM with Plat, Plat MB, and PRG

Spent required amount for Plat MB, sent PM and got the 50k points. Haven't met other minimums yet.

Is it a bad idea to cancel the Plat MB before others have their minimums? Does it make a difference? I want the $475 back...

The previous summer's 30K promo.
However the terms state that you shouldn't get the bonus if you have even just had the product in the last 12 months.

They didn't start enforcing that until April-May of this year. I have a feeling if you tried churning Starwood again before August 2013 they would tell you no dice.

Like for instance I churned MB Plat/Regular Plat in Dec 2011, and then again in July 2012, the 12 month didn't apply to me because it seems they did a flat start on the 12 month clock for everyone starting in April-May 2012 when they rolled out the new T&C.

If I tried to churn MB Plat/Plat again before July 2013 they would tell me to suck a fat one.

Just got a RSVP for the DBA I have for the  Biz gold card that i  ancelled a month ago .
I can  add This to a DBA RSVP for Plat BIZ card that I have never had .

Gold invite is 50K and Plat is 100K . Is it worth altering my every 3  apporama to try to get
These 2 cards total 150 K with  Spends that  total $15 K

Whomever is the most helpful will be rewarded with the RSVP codes in the event I don't use either
One or just the Biz Plat card.

I hope  offering the RSVP codes in  PM does not violate any forum rules . If so ,
feel free to delete this Post
