Just wanted to post an SM success I just experienced.
A bit after my 90 days of the MB card past, I called to see what exactly is up with my 50k points.
I was shocked to hear from the Rep. that I only spent $976! I must have miscalculated my spending.
Anyhow, by now it was too late to rectify, so I discussed with the rep. how this was obviously a genuine mistake etc etc.
So he said he'll ask a supervisor, he did but was rejected. He then went higher up and asked a manger, and I was rejected again. You can imagine how upset I was after that.. This would be my second Amex Plat. (
see my previous Plat. story here) w/o getting the bonus?! I can't let this happen.
So I took Dan's long-time advice and a day or two after making sure to spend more and thereby surpass more than the $1k minimum spend, I sent an SM pleading with them to understand the obvious mistake that I made, and to please grant a one-time courtesy to a loyal Amex cardholder like Galitzyaner bla bla..
Less than an hour later, I received the response!
"Dear Galitzyaner,
I do understand your concern regarding the sign up offer of 50,000 bonus points.
We do appreciate your membership and therefore, I've issued 50,000 points to your Mercedes-Benz Platinum Card ending in **** towards the sign up offer.
Now, you have 50,000 available points and *** pending points.
I hope my action meets with your approval, and I appreciate the opportunity to be of service.
I want you to know that you are a valued Cardmember for us and we will never want you upset with our services.
