Is it risky/inadvisable to apply for the Amex Plat less than 2 weeks after I cancelled one?

(I got totally screwed last plat., didn't get a single bonus point, all thanks to the fact that I used a link in the "amex plat 50k..." thread. Of course I spent months fighting for my points, but to no avail

What I can warn ppl here is, you face a major risk of not getting any signup bonus if you use any of those rogue links in the aforementioned thread. I know I'm not the only one who's had to deal with this really annoying hassle, so it's not an isolated case.)

Which Amex Plat did you have in the past? I had one and canceled and 3 weeks later applied for the Amex Plat mercedes and was approved no issues and got the sign up bonus(and $100 certificate to Mercedes).

Why don't you post it there?

Also has anyone had any issues in the last few weeks , getting the 50K for the MB card. I heard some people have had issues (including first timers , so not a 12 month issue) getting the MB bonus

There was a known issue with one (some?) of the links in that thread, should've been careful about which ones you used.

i hit the bonus 2 weeks ago and statement came out no points for the mb plat this is my 2nd mb this year,with all my previous plats mb and regular the points would come when i hit the spend. I probably have to wait the full 8 weeks

I never had a problem with the MP app even when is wasn't the fisrt time the person was applying.

Can yous hare some details off these people that had problems? Did they wait 2 full bill cycles? What did CS tell them when they asked for the points?

1. this is very recent (last month), 2. it could be it'll come later, 3.it normally used to be pending a few days after spend even 1st timers, 4.CS said the usual 6-8 weeks shtik.
