At my desk in the Bronx. Was busy with something and thought my stomach was rumbling from lunch. Few seconds later the entire office was all standing and talking.. I asked why everyone was chattering and then realized that it wasn't stomach !

I hope that all of you California people are laughing.
I'm laughing and I only lived in LA for 3 years.
Wait till you feel something in the 7s and get back to me...

I hope that all of you California people are laughing.

Well I for one was laughing hard; people seemed to need to text me as soon as they could.  I was in LA for the '94 earthquake and that was a big one. East-coasters have no clue what to do during an earthquake.  I saw the video of that guy in NY who's speech got interrupted, where everyone started running out of the room...potentially bad move.

Earthquake tip #1: Do NOT try to run outside during an earthquake.  Get under heavy furniture and proceed with caution when the shaking stops.

You make an excellent point! My college actually sent out an email with protocol what to do in event of an earthquake.

It's interesting how no one knew what to do, and thousands across the east coast did the one thing you're NOT supposed to do: Run outside.   I'm laughing now as I think how my whole building was standing outside seeking 'shelter' near the outside walls of the building and under trees!!!

I was also in the city - the fifth floor of a building under construction - I thought the tractor went to far...

Sitting at my desk thinking "wow do I have a head ache, i cant even see straight". I then started thinking that maybe it was a colleague of mine that started the earthquake after attending a chulent and kugel buffet this past thursday night

This is very offending to our Fressers here on the DDF, Please edit your post!

I was in a meeting outside of Boston and noticed I was getting an awful lot of txt messages. Then, a coworker popped her head in the door and told us the news, and said that it was felt in NYC. The txt messages were from my wife, sister and mother, all on Long Island. Some friends felt it in Boston, I didn't feel a thing.

My wife felt the [3 story] building rumble a bit, but nothing spectacular. My father thought that my 2yo son was shaking the chair he was sitting in, from behind.
