disclaimer: I am not a doctor.

isnt the way twins happen is that an egg splits and identical twins result? so does it follow that the egg wont necessarily divide into 3 equal parts? it just divides in half every time...

but again I have no clue..
Then they would all 3 be identical

im saying that eggs only split in half not more than that.

so it would be possible to have a set of twins or 2 sets of twins but not odd sets of twins.

This is only the case for identical twins

right. so you agree with me and not..
AFAIK 2 identical and one not is not common even for fertility treatments.

This is only the case for identical twins
so only for 2 it splits in half but with 3 or more it could split into that many?

ok
ETA:
eggs dont split into 3 parts-what happens is 2 eggs are created(twins but not identical) and then one of them splits(becoming identical)

A woman has 2 eggs get fertilized. fraternal twins.
Then one of those fertilized eggs splits - one of the fraternal twins becomes a pair of identical twinstriplets.

I know it's so different. Yes we paid her $30k. We used an agency to find someone (extensive screening) and then met her, had lawyers draw up a long contract, and she did IVF with one of our frozen embryos

Infertility treatments or alternatives?
« Reply #37 on: August 26, 2020, 03:58:09 AM »
After not being able to conceive within a period of time I was considering infertility treatment however IVF is over $30k and probability is small. Does anyone here have any experience or any alternatives like acupuncture?

atime.com has a forum for infertility related questions which you might find helpful.

+1; We definitely feel for you and hope you the best but this is probably not the best place to discuss such personal matters.
@Luvtotravel is right. Atime forums is probably the best place to discuss these matters.
Not sure how it works but https://forums.atime.org/ and then probably click "Contact Us" to get a user name and password or maybe just email ADMIN@ATIME.ORG to get login information.
