AMEX SKYGUIDE companion ticket

I just got offered to join amex skyguide for 2 months at 2.99 and then cancel and still get a free companion ticket has anyone ever used this program or offer and know anything about it?

I also got the offer. I was wondering the same thing.
 Many times you have to buy the first ticket with them at a set crazy price, like around $400 from nyc to florida, plus pay tax on the companion ticket. ++, so im not sure its worth it.
