What level? High end?

Some mid-level suggestions: Ottimo or South Side Sandwich Shop.
Are there any high end milchig places?

I think the highest end is Ottimo, but your bill will still probably be about half the equivalent in a Fleishig place.

Probably the most expensive entrée in Ottimo is under $50, while a steak combo can be $120 or more in a high-end Fleishig place.

Caffottaria is also a nice dairy place, but it's not as formal as Ottimo. Both were started by the same family, but they have a different style (and IINM Ottimo was since sold)

For steak maybe Entrée (for a more limited menu of solid food), or Estrela or CharQ (for a more expanded menu).
Thanx. Of those it seems that only char-q is open for lunch. Although I can't find their lunch menu on their website

I didn't list them because I never tried it, and not because I had any negative experience. Just clarifying.

that kosher steak is just as good (I hope :)
I've heard from numerous people that it is not when comparing what he would expect based on the ambiance.

So what place in Lakewood would you say has the nicest ambience?
Curious if that statement was about Lakewood in particular or if that would include manhattan as well.

Kalamata is at least on par with Ottimo in terms of vibe, and the food is significantly higher quality. Sugo is also a great choice but less formal, more like caffoteria vibe

Sorry, should've clarified. I was a little out of things the last few years, so I'm not familiar with the new places. I was talking only about my personal experience.

On that note, IINM there is also a new Milchig place near the new Aisle 9 in Jackson. Is that an option? Or is that just a drive-through?

Just went to Toast Cafe in Manchester, great quiet atmosphere and only 12 mins from south side of Lakewood for me. Got the shakshuka with sourdough bread and a side of hash browns as well, absolutely delicious.
Will definitely be back again.
