This article on the Shuls website from 3 months ago titled “We Deserve Better” is pretty chilling now..

From the article:

”Current news recycles at a dizzying pace, with the important topic of yesterday buried beneath the freshest catch of the day. The television talking heads pick over each and every juicy tidbit like vultures over carrion. Just when you thought they were done, they find more. Remember the Thai soccer team rescue? Old news. The push by the students from Parkland, Florida to enact safer schools? Now that schools are closed for the summer, apparently school safety is not important, as shooters are finding other valuable sites.”

“Unless there is a dramatic turnaround in the mid-term electons, I fear that that the status quo will remain unchanged, and school shootings will resume.”

What does it say that you find chilling? All I see are a bunch of Leftist talking points telling people to go vote for Democrats at the elections.

That said, they did not deserve this, and this nazi didn’t really care if they were Left or Right. He wanted to murder Jews and they were an easy target.

I'm cuious if Tapper himself new this from before or if he checked it up when he saw "conservative synagogue"

ya good point I highly doubt he’s familiar but maybe he is.

It’s funny (not as in ‘ha ha’) bc when jews say conservative it obviously triggers one thing and when those unfamiliar with Jews hear ‘conservative synagogue’ it sounds quite different...

kind of like when the South African rabbi came to speak in the white shul in 5towns and said “you know this name for a shul just wouldn’t go down back where I come from...”

Tragic for the entire community. Sudden and unexpected in a place of peace. Yes, all the 6-7 shuls are walking distance and within a mile of this location. Many members attend multiple shuls on a regular basis.

Sunday's print newspaper has a large spread with a lot of info; the gunman was anti-trump and also against this organization's funding of refugees and immigrants.

Names of the 11 murdered will be out within the next hour.

BDE, that's why we have security by my shull in NMB.

I still say that trained attendee's that carry is the best safety.

We are aware of the dangers, sadly parents and or kids don't pay attention to security advice. I have said this before, and I'll repeat it, lo aleinu, the congregating outside shull after davening is a security concern.

Every shull needs effective security barriers to prevent car ramming attacks.

Every shull needs an active shooter lockdown, I said this one year ago when we moved to our new building, there should be a security team that should clear the outside of the building, alarms should go off, and the shull go on lockdown in 30-60 seconds

Less practical but highly effective would be to have a trained sniper on shull roof of in emergencies.

From my sister

One of the niftarim in Pittsburgh was my boss. He was an amazing kind person. I kept up with him and just spoke to him several weeks ago. He was planning his retirement. Only comfort is he died "al kiddush Hashem" BDE 😥
