So - I SM-ed, asking if I could get the 60,000 points. They said they'd get back to me within 4 hours.

9 hours later, I called them, and was told I would get the extra 10k for my IB and IP.

36 hours later, I got an SM response saying that I'm not eligible.

So, at this point, does the SM mean they removed the credit that the guy on the phone gave me, and I should call to fight it, or just that they won't give it to me, but the credit from the guy on the phone should remain in force...?

On what basis? Are you within the 90 days?

Was it already added to your account?

Yes, I was within 90 days.

No the points weren't credited yet, he said within 1-2 billing cycles - I haven't gotten the 50k yet either, I just met the spending threshold.

What was the reason for the decline?

Hmmm. . . I guess its still possible, but doubtful.

Didn't really give a reason - just not eligible.

Doubtful that they'll give the 10k points?

I guess my question is if it pays for me to call and fight it at this point, since I was told I would get it (and of course, they add in that part about how I should trust them that everyone is being told them same thing).

(I feel like an idiot in this exchange, but I have to finish my AOR).
Could I see s/t by looking at the stmt? If it says I have a credit limit, does that mean it's a Plus?

After getting both the IB and United Biz in a 2BM (plus recon call to get both through) earlier this week, I got a Credit Sesame alert that I had two credit inquiries from that day.  One was from Chase and one was from First USA (which I assume is Chase too).  Has this happened to anyone else before?  Do the inquiries eventually merge, or is the technicality that the names are different prevent that?

Why do you assume First USA is Chase?

ETA: Actually, it looks like you may be right.

If they're not merged now, they're not merging.
