Etihad Partners: Royal Air Maroc Edition
« on: November 01, 2018, 07:43:48 AM »
This will be a thread similar to the four threads I created for Virgin Atlantic partners.

These can be found here:

ANA - https://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=94751.0
Hawaiian Airlines - https://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=94741.0
Jet Airways - https://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=94723.0
South African Airways  - https://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=94765.0

You can transfer both Citi ThankYou Rewards and American Express Membership Rewards to Etihad Guest at a 1:1 transfer ratio. There have also been a few transfer bonuses offered in the past, which will of course make for a better deal. Transfers from Citi take a few days. Transfer from Amex are instantly.

Royal Air Maroc has now announced they will be starting service to Amman (AMM), 3x weekly. This will make for another nice option to have when going to Israel.

Casablanca – Amman eff 01APR19 3 weekly 737-700
AT260 CMN2310 – 0650+1AMM 73G 146
AT261 AMM0750 – 1205CMN 73G 257

To be continued.

Been looking into this for the past few weeks. Their J class is 44k for any distance above 2,000 miles. Seems like you can get some really good values.

is there any info on Royal Air Maroc for bookings or a possible way of using miles?

This is the only dedicated thread I found
http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=43060.0

I'm not sure if there's a thread about it but you can book with Emirates or IB to fly with royal air maroc

lucky wrote about this redemption and reviewed their product

Royal Air Maroc has flights to 4 cities in North America. Miami (starting in a few months), Montreal, New York and Washington, DC. They also fly to Sao Paulo and Rio in Brazil.

All of these flights are flown on 787-800 aircraft with lie-flat seating in a 2-2-2 configuration.

From Casablanca (CMN) you can continue on to many other cities in Northern/Central Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Royal Air Maroc does not fly to Tel Aviv, though they will start flying soon to Amman. From there you can book an add-on ticket for 4,500 Avios for the 25 minute hop over to Israel.

Etihad Guest charges 22,000 miles for a one way Economy class ticket or 44,000 miles for a one way Business class ticket. This includes the transatlantic flight as well as a connecting flight on the same itinerary.

Fuel surcharges are passed along on Etihad awards for Royal Air Maroc travel.

The Royal Air Maroc lounge in Casablanca is terrible. Hot, stuffy, packed, room temp drinks, no showers. Go instead next door to the Priority Pass lounge which is more comfortable.

Meals from Casablanca are from WAM caterer in France. Bottle of wine was included with the meal.

Should point out that they have real J on the 737.

Correct. It is 2-2, instead of 3-3 with blocked middle seat.

Awesome info! How high is their YQ generally?
ETA: I see $170 on IAD-CMN, not bad at all.

Please post your booking experience,

For me it was different from other bookings I've done through Etihad, they had to create the reservation, then send it to Maroc where it either comes back confirmed or denied

Booked it with no issue over the phone.

If they do have to wait for the confirmed or no availability, it is instant while you wait.

Do US passport holders need a visa to enter Morocco?

It looks like AT is now flying 787-9's on both daily CMN-JFK flight's. The 789 has reverse herringbone seats in a 1-2-1 configuration as opposed to 2-2-2 on the 788's which is a significant upgrade to the hard product. See Lucky's review here- https://onemileatatime.com/royal-air-maroc-787-9-business-class/

Really? That's a shame, do you see any dates where it's actually flying?

I did not look at past activity.

But as you look at dates getting closer they seem to swap the earlier flight.

Just that you know, in YUL they are leasing from QR, so it dosnt look like they have any spairs and are waiting for dilevery of new aircraft.

So the earlier flight gets swapped but the later flight is the 789?

Yea, I saw that the daily YUL flight is operated by QF while the 3 times a week flight is operated by AT.

Looks like it.

I guessing this will stop as soon as they get another 787-9 but if you wanna fly the 9 your best bet is the later flight.
