So I opened this card in 6/2015 and closed it 10/2017, first year after the 10k spend got my anniversary night no problem. Second year I was never credited with the anniversary night (the only reason I kept the card open). Problem is I only realized this about a month ago, long story short after a whole bunch of phone calls I finally spoke to someone who understood the issue, she pulled up the statements and confirmed that indeed I had spent more than the requisite 10k and said it was odd that I was not credited with a free night. She said the most she could do was credit me $100 but she understands that the night is worth more so she will put a note on the account. I call a week later and find out I got a $100 credit (which I specifically said I was not willing to take), spoke to other reps who said they will escalate the issue and I should call back in 3-5 Business days so I called back and after waiting 30 minutes on hold was transferred yet again to Hilton who of course claim they never got the cert and I need to speak with Citi. What is my recourse? Can/should I take them to a small claims court? I assume that by not giving a benefit they violate the agreement, or maybe not?
This is especially troubling since I really assumed I had this night for an upcoming vacation and only realized that it was never credited when I looked in my Hilton account and spoke with Hilton. In addition all the reps keep trying to transfer me to Hilton I have to explain to each one that it is not a Hilton issue at all...
