any benefit over the "Marriott Renaissance Tower" over the Renaissance Zurich Hotel? i need to be in the airport early so i took the one closer to the airport- they are both cat 6.

The Marriot Zurich is a great hotel, down the block from the central train st. (10 min to airport). But why not buy Hyatt certs? And the Radisson at the airport is amazing, though not worth it unless u use points.

but which marriot in zurich are you refering to? there are 2 marriots in zurich- tower or regular?

a third, the Marriot Zurich. Your two are cheaper afaik.
It has 2 buildings on two sides of the street, with a bridge in between.
Whatever u do, don't stay in the are next to the airport ( radisson is in the aiport mamesh), where the IC is, it is the only 4* IC worldwide, and the area is horrible.

The marriot zurich is 2 expensive - it looks like i will be going with the Renaissance Zurich Hotel - the "tower" is in close proximity to the IC - in the area you do not recommend.

i am going to Switzerland beginig of July for 1 week, which area and which hotel is the best/nicest place to stay? i am flexible on which area to be staying but would like to be close walk to Kosher food and Minyan as i am also staying there for Shabbos.

what attractions is a must see?

I'm planning on going to St Moritz (non kosher Hotel) mid july with my wife. Should we shlep packaged meals from NY or is there a recommended option for catered meals or to pick up meals in Zurich? Thanks

If they do stop you at the airport than any meats etc will be confiscated, plus a possible fine.
For the meat part, there is a kosher butcher who would ship etc. Called kol tuv. Might be worth a try.

stayed there last year..with marriott silver got bumped into junior suite...room seemed old fashioned but no complaints...lobby/serivce was nice and is close to airport...how many points is it?

The nearest Shul to the Park Hyatt (btw absolutely gorgeous Hotel) is called IRG, its about 10min walk away from the Hotel and the exact address is Freigutstrasse.17. Meat in Zurich is EXTREMELY expensive, and even if your planning to spend allot of money for the vacation or visit you will be shocked by the prices. There is a kosher food store in Germany, about a 15min drive from Zurich Airport where you can buy meat,wine, tuna and all basic food products for literally half the price they cost in Switzerland, if you contact the owner of the store (speak fluent english) you might even be able to arrange delivery or something like that.

Yes From ZRH to this address its a 25 min drive.

I believe from Center Zurich this address in Germany is a 25min drive but for someone arriving in Zurich Airport (Kloten) it would not take more then 15min to get there. The store is about a 3min drive from the German border. There are limits how much food and meat you are allowed to bring back into Switzerland per person but just ask the store for the details.

you should be able to go up mt. rigi in that amount of time, its a beautiful boat ride across the lake and then a train ride up the mountain.

If you want to stay in zrh go in town, then to the lake, and take a boatride to Rapperwil, which is a children zoo, and quite cute.

We will need a place to freshen up, take a shower, 1hr nap, etc... and drop off all our carry ons. I figured PH would be worth it (I have free nights to burn).

Radisson make a lot more sense, its in the terminal builidng very cute hotel.
