Another mass shooting. Seems unclear what the motive was

Does it matter what the motive was?

From Islamic terror (San Bernardino) to White Nationalism (Pittsburgh) to Homophobia (Orlando) to left wing extremism (congressional baseball field) to run of the mill domestic violence, we have a gun problem in America, that many are actively looking the other way. The NRA isn't interested in responsible gun ownership they are interested in selling more guns and lately owning the libs.

There are reasonable policies that we can put in place that are well within the 2nd amendment.

  • Universal background checks
  • limit what types of bullets available the general public
  • Gun safety test before you can get a gun license (like with the DMV)

Yes maam!
Coming soon to a location near you, ban knives request. Motives don't matter.

When was the last time someone killed 12 people including an armed police officer and a security guard with a knife?

Knives serve multiple purposes cooking, eating, construction etc. guns only serve one purpose to kill.

There is "knife control", people in NYC are regularly arrested for possession of drop-knives even when they are allowed to posses them

FYI, the NRA doesn't sell guns.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

FYI, the NRA doesn't sell guns.

For all intents and purposes the NRA is de-facto an industry gun lobby representing the interests of gun manufactures

The overwhelming majority of it's 6 million members are not gun manufacturers.

Just because the interests of gun owners and gun manufacturers are usually aligned, doesn't mean they're working for the gun manufacturers.

Suspecting PTSD. No clue what (good) help is available for vets, but getting vets help for this is a big deal. Not specifically commenting on this specific incident, but in general. Don't misinterpret my comment as an excuse, or an exclusion of other possible causes/motives.

It is disgraceful how vets are treated. The treatment just isn't what it should be.

They seem to say he had a history of mental illness, although I'm not sure if that was confirmed or diagnosed. Not sure if it was service related either, but the above point still stands, and nothing takes away from the horrors of this tragedy.
