Just by the fact that so many people have guns does a lot to keep the government from becoming tyrannical. If we had an all out civil war, it would be extremely difficult for the military to take control of the country.

So many other nations have vibrant democracies, gun control, and a lot less death

Because people would organize into a militia via gab, raid the arsenals and pentagon, send a missile to the white house...

But somehow they can only do this with HCM or with certain kind of guns, but can't do so otherwise, and can do so without heavy explosives...

Until the government becomes tyrannical. That's how over 100,000,000 people lost their lives at the hands of their own government over the past 100 years.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

And if I wanted to defend myself with a nuke or explosives (perhaps plant them around my property to defend it), is that within my natural rights?

I don't think many people agree that you can defend yourself "in any way shape or form." Most historical and current laws I have seen limit the amount of force to that which is "reasonable," which is not defined by the defender, but by a judge or jury. On what basis do you believe that you can defend yourself in any way shape or form?
If we didn't have a government, I would be allowed to build a nuclear bomb, now that we have a government, the government (thankfully) restricted that right.

The more the government chips away at our natural right to self defense, the easier it is for a tyrannical government to overpower the people.

You're worried about what might happen I'm worried by what is happening.

There have been 12.5k people killed by guns, not including suicides, in 2018 so far (many by police)

We're averaging about one mass shooting a day

He is talking about what HAS happaned as well.

Over the past 100 years tyrannical governments have killed more innocent civilians at a ratio that's hard to comprehend when comparing it to gun deaths you are referring to.

With your 12.5k it'll take 8,000 years to equal the deaths caused by tyrannical governments in the past 100 years.

That was his point anyway. K bye.

It is amazing how some feel their peashooters are going to stop a government that goes off the rails. These are the same clueless individuals that think more guns makes them safer. They should stop thinking about themselves and start worrying about their kids and grandkids.

@avromie7 you are confusing a freedom and a right.

Freedom is that you are free to do something. When restricting straws they take away your freedom to use a straw.

A right is a moral or legal entitlement to something.

That’s just about as strong of an argument as “governments have killed 100m ppl. We need to protect ourselves from them”

On the one hand, you are saying that everyone needs guns to protect against the government killing them and on the other, you are saying that anyone who points out that sometimes police kill people unjustifiably is insane. Do you not see the contradiction there in your mind that there is no middle ground?

No
Lets start from here.

Do you believe that on occasion police kill people unjustifiably and maybe even for racist reasons or due to racial profiling?
