He found out about it and pushed for publication (and is still pushing to reveal redacted details). He was smeared (as is to be expected when revealing the failures of the deep-state that just tried brushing the whole thing under the rug).
smeared is a bit of an understatement. He was called in for interogation (with approval from the AG ) for an incident that happened 10 years ago when he as a cop is supposedly suspected of hitting somebody. This complaint was dismissed at the time.
