Citi declining my AA MC application because of recently opened cards

In the past I've been able to apply 60-90 days apart. The last time I was approved for this card was over 90 days ago. Any ideas?

This is the email I received:

Why we're writing you
 Thank you for applying for the Citi(R) Platinum Select(R) /
 AAdvantage(R) World MasterCard(R) account.  Unfortunately, we
 are unable to approve your request for the account at this
 time because of the following:

 o   We have recently opened an account for you.  This
 includes any of your accounts issued by Citibank (South
 Dakota), N.A. such as Visa, MasterCard, store cards,
 or gas cards.  We invite you to apply again after your
 account has been open for at least a year.

I also just applied and received a letter in the mail declining me becasue i already have an account (which i opened a long time ago like a yr ago) i dont know why this is...

I just opened another 2 AA cards, but I had to call up citi's underwriting to get them approved...they are definitely getting tougher.

Is Citi's underwriter in charge of credit limit increases as well?

I also just got declined because " You have submitted multiple applications for credit."
Any ideas? I hear that it is just 1 cards every 60 days now regardless of the type..

Did you discuss both cards together or separate? and did the consumer see that you applied for a business or vice versa?

I just got declined because "insufficient activity on another card issued by citibank" and old citi diamond card with a low limit that i never use.
