So I'm going to have them put them on and take them off?
Will people buy them if they're used?

Maybe sweet talk them into just giving it to you without installing it.

I'd go for this, tell them you want to put them on yourself when you're ready for them.

Will people buy them if they're used?

every part in a vehicle will be sold at the end new or used, either on eBay or on Craigslist.

the only question is, how long it will take ..
if i was you i will put them on a side in your garage and forget about them till sold. you will thank me in the end.

What's with the ugly wheels that I see on some of the Tesla's? Reminds me of the original Prius wheel...

The 18" ones on TM3 with the Aero cover?
They're super efficient, but the Aero cover does come off if you don't want the efficiency:

Wow, price drop again on the mid-range with premium interior to $40,000 flat and now you can order the $35K model for delivery in 2-4 weeks. The Long Range RWD is available again too.

Instead of selling "Enhanced" Autopilot for $5k in advance of delivery, it's now called "Autopilot" and is $3k with an option to pay up an additional $5k for FSD, which includes some (useless IMHO) features presently available in EAP + others that will be available "later this year".

Summary of changes Tesla announced on 28 Feb 2019

Model 3 Standard-Range is now available to order for $35,000.

Tesla releases a new Model 3 version called 'Standard Range Plus' for $37,000 with a partial premium interior.

Model 3 LR is now back. It was discontinued when Tesla introduced the Mid-Range version.

The price of Model 3 Mid-Range, Long Range AWD and Performance versions have dropped by $2,900. MR starts now at $40.000 instead of $42,900. Long-Range AWD at $47,000 instead of $49,900 and P at $58,000 instead of $60,900.

Autopilot is now $3,000 instead of $5,000 and it is now called just 'Autopilot' instead of 'Enhanced Autopilot'.

Cost to add FSD increased from $5k to $7k

Model 3 Performance has a top speed increase to 162mph from 155. The 0-60 mph time has dropped from 3.3s to 3.2s

In a blog post today Tesla says they will shut down all of their stores and switch to online sales only. They will keep a few locations but those will be converted into galleries instead of stores.

If you are not happy with your purchase, you can now return the car within 7 days and 1,000 miles.

Nah, once they take over the world I think service will get better.

They are a 15 year old company that only started turning a profit last quarter. They are way over their head with demand for thier superior product. Once the sales become a steady number everything should even out.

What do you want them to do? Hire temporary employees for just the next year? Train them in time for them to be fired?

I'm not who you think I am.

How much of this is about pivoting to focusing on service and how much is an attempt to cut costs?

Its both. Snippet from Tesla 8-K below.

Quote
Shifting all sales online, combined with other ongoing cost efficiencies, will enable us to lower all vehicle prices by about 6% on average, allowing us to achieve the $35,000 Model 3 price point earlier than we expected.

Over the next few months, we will be winding down many of our stores, with a small number of stores in high-traffic locations remaining as galleries, showcases and Tesla information centers. The important thing for customers in the United States to understand is that, with online sales, anyone in any state can quickly and easily buy a Tesla.

At the same time, we will be increasing our investment in the Tesla service system, with the goal of same-day, if not same-hour service, and with most service done by us coming to you, rather than you coming to us. Moreover, we guarantee service availability anywhere in any countries in which we operate.
