3P looks amazing, though I couldn't justify spending the extra money on it when the 3AWD is crazy fast as it is.
interesting, you didn't think the 10k is justified for the upgrades??

Not hard at all. I would have a very hard time going back to ICE at this point. Driving the Tesla is a real joy, everything else else feels like a cheap toy.
I'm sure one day there will be real competition, but Tesla has quite the lead.

Why not take a 7 day trial before the credit is halved?

Because even if I like it, it’s not worth literally 2x the cost. I can get an i8 lease for that price

I can think of better things to do with 10K than to shave a second off already ridiculously fast acceleration.
Additionally I've read that the 20” Performance Wheels don't perform as well in snow and over potholes as the 18’’ Aero Wheels on the AWD.

i8 ain't all that great...not to mention you need to grease up to get in or out, and that's assuming you're under 200lbs

I'm not exaggerating.

60k MSRP 440 - $350 with 0 DAS (10k/36m)
40k MSRP base model 3 - $399 w $5594 DAS = $554
56k MSRP 3 LR w/ EAP - $653 w $5848 DAS = $815

And it's always better to lease w 0 DAS since if the car is totaled, stolen, or you want to trade it, you will lose the DAS. Tesla (online) doesn't let you decrease DAS.

Why lease? Make more selling yourself when you're done anyway.

Also I wouldn't buy EAP. AP is just fine until they add more functionality to EAP.

Agreed. I'd get an S over i8 no question. i8 looks cool though and it's fun to ride in. And can be convertible.

True, but getting in and out every time you drive makes you not want to drive it.

Why lease? Make more selling yourself when you're done anyway.

That's a risk. And I'm of the opinion that leasing is a better option if:
1. You like driving a new car with limited maintenance
2. You are able to stack incentives and dealer discounts on a high residual value vehicle
3. Bonus points if the manufacturer (e.g., BMW) inflates residuals heavily

At 350/month, that's a 12k cost over 3 years. You think your model 3 won't depreciate by that much in 3 years? And that's aside from the interest you will pay on financing the vehicle (or $ you could have earned investing the cash)

Edit: To add, when a car has a high residual value, the incentives you can apply are much more valuable in a lease than in a purchase.

Worked out very well for me last time, though I kept the car for 8 years. If you must have a new car every 3 years, that's fine I suppose. But that's mostly just marketing convincing you that's something worth doing. Otherwise you would keep a car until it needs enough maintenance that it becomes a hassle or unsafe.

Also need to factor in the $3.75K rebate into the math as well as gas savings.

I think tesla includes it in their lease price. Gas savings they show with and without - But do Model 3s now include free supercharging?

If you're referred you can some free supercharging. Personally I've yet to supercharge. Love not having to go to the gas station.

Love not having to plug in every night :). And the sound :).

Was considering getting a 530e (plug in hybrid), but the performance isnt there even though the price is.

Would have to drive a ton to need to plug in every night. I plug in once a week. That takes all of 8 seconds where it's always 70 degrees.
