Geico wanted a lot more than my Altima, but I switched to Progressive and my rate actually went down.

In general Tesla will be more expensive to insure as they are more expensive to repair. Insurers have t really gone done in liability due to new safety features but that may change in the future. Regardless collision /comp often exceeds liability for high msrp cars.
