I'm very interested in getting the Model 3 but concerned about winter.  Can you describe your experience with your AWD Model 3's handling in significant snow (maneuvering on poorly plowed side streets etc) as well as any issues due to winter in general?

No issues other than decreased range.

Um @Dan lives in Beachwood, not NYC or ORD, he doesn't even  know what "poorly plowed streets" look like

  • Location: The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.
  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

Drove a Tesla for the first time and it was very cool.

Arent there eports of people getting their computers replaced without asking at Tesla service centers once the car is in for other servicing or repairs? Because to be fully autonomous they need a computer much bigger so they are putting in computer 20 times more powerful.

Typical Tesla sloppiness. At least acknowledge it and fix it. It only costs a couple of dollars for each chip.

Meh. Typical bad reporting. A quick google search will give you many articles saying that Tesla is aware that their software is overpowering their hardware. Multiple data points of Tesla replacing people computers with out asking (from the articles I read, currently people who played for autonomous driving) and promised to do so for them too.

That's not the right way to do things. Google frustratingly does the same. The right way to do things is to publicly acknowledge the issue and replace the chips. It's not exactly safe for a car to turn off in middle of driving...
