This was not fixing a safety related defect, not recognizing all stationary objects is a clear software limitation included in the owners manual. This why the driver is fully responsible for watching the road. It's like blaming a manufacturer for a car on cruise control hitting a stopped emergency vehicle.
Possibly. But let Tesla start taking regulators seriously and not ignore them. Maybe that attitude will spill over to their customers, too.

No. It’s like blaming a manufacturer for a car on lane assist veering out of the lane and crashing when the road is straight.

Even if Tesla says “driver needs to be attentive”, autopilots published capabilities should handle these sort of situations, so Tesla could have liability in case of a defect. Also, if Tesla discovers a defect and updates the software to remedy, that is great, but they should not be absolved of notifying customers and regulators of the defect and how it was fixed. They shouldn’t be able to “cover their tracks” with a software update.

Mine is showing: Estimated Delivery: November 06 - November 26

Hopefully it’s easy to push off delivery to be eligible for tax credit

Very easy to push and they're nearly always wayyyy early with delivery estimates given post purchase.

Estimated Delivery: November 26 - December 24

Is there any way to verify that Tesla submitted my signed form to the state?

I’ve heard of some ppl being contacted today w issues.

At the very least confirm the rebate amount is deducted from the cash you need for the purchase online.

It's been there since before I signed the form so I don't think that means much. Guess I can call and verify

It doesn’t mean rebates submitted. But it means Tesla thinks you’re eligible. (As well as the form).

There are various pieces of legislation under consideration in Congress that, if passed, would increase the total amount available to claim. We first saw a bill to raise the tax credit amount to $12,500 a few months ago. However, that idea is now making its way through Congress in a more serious manner. This bill adds $4,500 to the current $7,500 tax credit available for a total of $12,500 potentially available to EV buyers. As the bill stands today an EV must be assembled in the US and with union labor, which would disqualify nonunion automakers such as Tesla and Toyota. In addition, it must use a US-built battery to qualify for the full $12,500 incentive. The bill is part of a broader Democratic-backed budget plan, but it may change as committees mull it over.

Nothing new here. Tesla would be excluded from the additional $4500 credit because they don't use unionized labor.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Yup, Geico is ridiculous for Tesla.

And GEICO owner, Warren Buffett claims Tesla will never succeed in the insurance business if they open their own insurance company.

Then why did Dan make a post saying we can double dip with state and federal credit?

As of right now there is no federal credit for buying a Tesla.
There is a good chance that with the bill they are trying to pass Tesla will again be eligible for at least a $7,500 credit and maybe an additional $500 for EVs using battery packs with 50% of components (including cells) made in the US
