I actually am very much looking forward to seeing this airline be successful! Sort of what easy jet is doing in EU and they are (mostly) a decent experience. Low baggage fees means not everyone will be using overhead bins and secondary airports are faster. Now if only they’d serve the eastern US

So I am very excited about this. I live 10 minutes from BUR and it’s a great airport. We may fly on them with 100 boys from our Yeshiva high school next month. They didn’t know how to deal with such a booking over the phone! Can’t wait to take my family to Yellowstone also!

Doesn't help that Avelo also had a booking outage for a few days now.

Yup.. covered in this article - https://crankyflier.com/2021/04/23/3-links-i-love-more-on-breeze-radixx-fails-a-hijacking-saga-tampa-at-50/

Quote
Starting at some point on Wednesday, Avelo’s reservation system provider Radixx went down. More than 36 hours later, it was still down, something that is just hard to imagine being possible. I received a note from someone wondering if there was something deeper going on here and Avelo was just going to delay service, but no. Radixx has simply failed disastrously. I compiled images from the websites of some of the company’s providers showing that it’s a global problem. After being down more than a day, this statement was released by the company saying it’s a malware problem. Hopefully by the time you read this, it will be back up, but the company is going to have a lot of questions to answer from angry airlines after this.

The next base - and first on the East Coast - will be New Haven, CT (HVN).

Flew Avelo yesterday on what was scheduled to be Bozeman to Burbank nonstop.

Less than 24 hours before the flight, we get an email that they are adding an intermediate stop in Eugene on the way to Burbank. The stop adds nearly 2 hours in travel time, and they provided a $50 voucher for each passenger on reservation.

With the plane serving Bozeman and Eugene (BUR to EUG passengers had to fly BUR to BZN to EUG, a triangle route) the plane was still only about 40-50% full, many had their own row.

That likely makes you the first DDFer ever (and likely for a while) to fly BZN-EUG

That’s a little nuts, I get where they’re coming from but not at all convenient. I’m scheduled to do BZN to BUR on Friday this week 😬

So I flew BUR-OGD yesterday. Was a super smooth experience! Plane was about 1/3 full, quick flight over to OGD. They gave a snack pack with water and OU-D cookies and a Purell wipe which was nice. I think the plane was larger than OGD. Baggage claim was someone driving the baggage cart around to the front of the airport and my bag was the first taken off. Enterprise picked me up 5 minutes later so within about 35 minutes of landing I was in my car. So far so good Avelo!

Looks like no airline has success with FNL, as locals go to DEN for more options and frequencies.
