Topic Wiki

MYS (Mark Mann) -
Good: ckmk47, S209, ual902, Pointer
Bad:
Pros: Many deals and usually the first to post them. Will do private pickup for $1000 worth of merchandise. Items shipped to DE are generally scanned into their system within 2 days or even same day when there are not a lot of deals. Varies by location, but you may be able to drop off merchandise or even go to a drop off location to pick up a check immediately whenever you want (if they are available). During peak buying seasons, they have held raffles for all buyers with many prizes including flights to Israel.
Cons: After requesting a check, it will take up to 9 business days (with only 4 business days per week) to receive an echeck or even more for a mailed check. This can sometimes take more than 2 weeks from date of request. Filling out forms after every order is tedious.

USA -
Good: S209
Bad: #PS4GATE, @medster
Pros: Have basically the same amount of deals as MYS. After requesting an echeck, they are generally emailed within a day or 2.
Cons: Private pick up for $10k of merchandise. Items shipped to DE are not scanned in DE, rather they are brought to NY first. The pickup from DE may be once a week during slow seasons so your product may not be scanned into the system for a week. Filling out forms after every order is tedious. Local drop off locations are only open and available once a week.

Directly Deals -
Good: yelped, S209
Bad:

PointsMaker -
Good: JunkYardUnz, davidrotts63, MordyK, chinagel, shulem92, yelped, Redbull3, Keepsmiling123, BerB, avromie7, lindnuck
Bad:
Pros: Great customer service.
Cons: Not as many deals as MYS or USA.

YRCW Tech -
Good: afrages6, chayie, avrohomgelb, boruchmig
Bad:
Pros: excellent people running it.
Cons: Very few deals

I hope people realize that any buying group or anyone else that gets merchandise in advance of payment can go south at any time. That's even if you get a check at the time of delivery.
X-posting as I don't want anyone to say that I never put a warning here.

Commission also depends on where they are selling it and what price points...
In my experience commissions are less about there being room for any and more about whether they will get the product Anyways

Supply and demand... No reason to pay commission when people will buy for you without it.
true , altho i think when commission is offered ppl are more interested/ make a bigger effort to buy ( or attempt to) as opposed to when there is no commission.

But wouldn't one group that offered even $2 for the macbooks end up luring everyone to them?

+1000
theres no need to pay commish if ppl will buy for you anyway.
the amazon 5% card is also a factor, as well as the fact that MS/meeting minimum spends has gotten harder

Yeh but I personally would rather give it to the group paying the commission straight up as opposed to getting a PO without commission and having to haggle and go back and forth for them to match.

We need new competing groups to make others pay commission, I am sure there is a quiet agreement on that

Margins are tighter + products are selling alot slower + buyers/supply are rapidly growing

Simple supply and demand issue  union wont help here in my opinion

Shame. I was thinking if I can't make money from commission, then I will make money being a union head. But now you killed that idea too:(
Now I need cash asap
