Got an email this morning about this and it had a link to the website below.
Here is a link to the new BA point system being rolled out soon: http://www.britishairways.com/travel/executive-club-changes/public/en_us
If you click on where it says on the right "Avios points needed for some routes" you'll notice that LHR-TLV is being bumped up in mileage required to get to TLV.
EDIT: This BusinessTraveller article was posted on MP as well that outlines some of the other changes: http://www.businesstraveller.asia/news/exclusive-ba-exec-club,-iberia-plus-and-air-mil.
Just got an email as well. It said:
Dear,
We know how important the Executive Club is to our customers, and how much you want it to be a Club offering benefits that meet your changing needs and expectations.
We’re listening, and from November we will start a journey that will develop and improve all elements of the Club – particularly the ones you’ve told us are important to you.
We’ll be giving you more recognition and improving the service you receive when you travel with us. We are also changing the way we reward you, which I want to tell you about right now.
Introducing Avios points, the new name for BA Miles.
Our existing currency, BA Miles, has been at the heart of the Club for many years, so we would only change it for something that delivers more value to our members.
From November we'll be renaming BA Miles as Avios points, which will be the currency for all loyalty and reward programmes owned by British Airways’ parent company, International Airlines Group.
Avios points will be worth exactly the same amount as your BA Miles. So if you have 1,000 BA Miles today, you will have 1,000 Avios points. But this is more than just a name change. Avios will be easier to spend and, from next year, easier to earn.
You can find out more about Avios points on ba.com/theclub, where you'll also see some of the other ways in which the Executive Club is changing.
A new Club.
We want to create a Club that is better, more rewarding and more flexible for its members, although this will not happen overnight and we want to involve you in how we get there.
If you have any initial thoughts or comments, we would love to hear them at ba.com/theclub.
I will also be in touch over the coming weeks to tell you more about the other changes that are happening in November and why they’ll deliver a Club you’ll feel more part of than ever.
Warm regards,
James Hillier
Executive Club Manager
