I believe so, Because most BA miles are used by travel agents to book CP to china on business, which per the FT report will hugely  increase, so to most other destinations it's not such a catch, except for South America which is not so wanted like China

It doesn't matter. At the present price-point (.7-.9cpm) it isn't going much lower. Especially if the AA domestic rates remain the same.

Especially if the AA domestic rates remain the same.
But if the AA rate changes or if YQ applies to AA domestic flights then we could be looking at truly worthless miles.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

When booking a domestic award they wanted to charge me ~$350.
Got it adjusted but if that becomes standard, they're worthless...

how about the fact that you can now use the miles for car/ hotel rentals. Isn't that going to be an upside and a good way to finally use all the BA miles..

let's not get carried away... they're not gonna be worthless.   even paying $700 yq on a rt to tlv, at .7 a mile youre talking about a total of 195k*.7= 1,365 + 700= $2,065 for a rt in first class to tlv, and a nice first class at that.   show me where you're gonna find that for cheaper buying any other miles???       and in business at 130k rt it comes out to $1,610 rt, also as good or better than you'll find with anyone else.            if they go lower than .7 it's a steal; unless they start doubling yq, ain't nothing worthless about them.

Perhaps worthless is a little strong of a term for the actual value of them but I was referring to domestic US travel. If they add YQ, it would never make sense to use BA miles.

Who's to say, with the "enhancement" of the program, the US-TLV rate won't go up.
The point is, it could get much worse.

And on a general scale, when you look at earning miles, yes, they are a worthless program when compared to earning with others.

on domestic us travel, ya, if they tack on yq it's worthless for that for the most part.    but they already published the changes to the us-lhr and lhr-tlv routes.  the us-lhr route goes down in miles and the lhr-tlv route goes up in miles.  at the end put them together and the us-lhr-tlv stays exactly the same.

But if booked as two separate awards, you pay the Luxury Tax, adding on a few hundred dollars more.

Obviously, if you were plan on paying for business/first class, there is still some value.
But as far as earning them goes, it makes little sense.

Just ask to check with the rate desk.

It was an award with a stop so had to be booked by phone.
Domestic tickets aren't suppsed to have YQ.

So let me get this straight... at this point, no one knows what will be with YQ for AA domestic flights? Because that's the only reason why I've held on to my BA miles for so long. But if they'll be useless for domestic USA flights, might as well cash out now...

Assuming you have where to cash them out.

Yare, obviously I don't mean worth nothing.  But right now what's holding up their value are domestic flights.
If they kill that then BA miles will be worth less that any other mileage currency.

I'm unloading my BA miles now. I'm not gonna fly them international (cuz of YQ), and although they're good for AA domestic (as of now anyway), I just got status on another airline. I'd rather use the money to fly that and get UG's/free baggage/etc.
