I dont know howd youd register phone without opening box. It needs to connect to metwork, so turning it on is a must.

got the travel credit email last week, got the 20 referral credit email a few days ago, and today got this email:

Yeah, I got that credit too, on the earlier BF deal.

ETA: To the one who asked, wasn't it 200, we weren't supposed to get it at all, since we didn't BYOD.

and you get $100 +new acct $20 have to keep new acct active for 30 days kinda ms or mc..... what do you think?

I was able to confirm this with two Fi support representatives (have the chat transcripts as well). They assured me I can have Fi on eSIM and T-Mobile on physical SIM and it will not violate the terms of the Travel on Fi promotion.

I emailed them but have not received a clear response back. I tried calling but the wait was very long.

does google fi have a data only plan. i need it for a tablet and i dont want to pay the $20 a month for talk and text

Yes go to add a plan, not sure if it can be the main line.

Thanks for contacting Google Fi support!

I request you to please do not insert the T-Mobile SIM card in your device as it will deactivate the eSIM on your device while switching to physical SIM. If the eSIM gets deactivated then you'll not be eligible for the promo.

I'd suggest you to please wait until you receive the credits on your account. Once you receive the credits, you can switch to your T-Mobile SIM with Google Fi.

PSA: Make sure to activate phone in the US. Fi cannot be activated overseas.

I chatted with them today rep said it needs to be activated 15 days from device delivery which was 5 days after shipment, terms say within 15 days of device shipment. Anybody looked into this?
