any one get the '"free" pixel 3 deal and wants to sell once they complete terms for gift card?
i would like to reserve one

What are people thinking the market price will be for the Pixel 3 (not XL); activated but not used?  It was $899.

And what's everyone's plan with their phone afterwards? Who's keeping it? If you're selling it, where are you doing that?

I sort of had this on my main Google account, but it didn't really affect me at all the way they had issues.

Basically, I had fraud on my Google Pay of this main account - someone got in and essentially drained one of my bank accounts by sending a bunch of payments with my debit card (maybe $2k total). I think I reported the fraud to Chase first, who immediately reversed the transactions and started a fraud investigation. I also called Google, and I think they said something along the lines of 'since you reported to your bank, we don't do anything on our end'. Two of the payments were still technically pending, so I canceled them in Google Pay.

Google never could quite explain how someone accessed my Google Pay account, especially since no devices not owned by me were listed as having accessed the account at any time. In the meantime, they basically froze my Google Pay, telling me I'd have to have my bank re-authorize the charges and initiate the fraud/dispute within Google alone if I wanted to reactivate Google Pay. I wasn't using that Google Pay account for anything (though it did mean one less account to do orders from by all the great buying group Google Express deals) so I didn't really care. I happened to have done a Google Fi deal (not the travel one) during this time, but I specifically didn't want to link it to my main account (I wasn't actually keeping the service) so it wasn't a problem.

Eventually, Chase/Google appear to have resolved the fraud thing, and it seems like my main Google Pay account is unfrozen. I can definitely see it being a bigger deal if I used the Google Pay ecosystem with any regularity.

I noticed it a couple of weeks ago. It shows $1,000 pending for each of us.
I don't see it when I go to the link. Where does it show what is pending?

Help! I just got an email from a supervisor that they decided my phone is not eligible anymore, even though a previous representative assured me that it was included. I waited to activate my phone until i got that first confirmation. (I have an email with the proof.)

Can you post the email? What prompted the email?

The first email:

Hi,

This is Jason from Google Fi with the information you requested. The promotion in question was valid 1/28/18 12:00 AM PT through 11/28/18 11:59 PM PT. Your purchases were time stamped Nov 28, 2018 8:15 PM and Nov 28, 2018 10:03 PM.

Thanks,

Jason

The 2nd email:

Hi,

My name is Lee and I'm a higher level Specialist here with Google Fi. I'm working directly with our Promotions Team to determine your eligibility for our "Travel on Fi with Any Device Purchase " promotion that was ongoing from 11/28/18 12:00 AM PT - 11/28/18 6:59 PM PT.

After thoroughly reviewing your account, we only can confirm that one of your orders  (-----------) was purchased within the promotion time-frame.

Under our investigation, order ------------- was purchased at 8:03 PM PT on 11/28/18. Unfortunately the promotion ended early at 6:59 PT PT due to the limited amount of vouchers available.

Please know that to monitor your Google Fi Launch promotion status in the future, you can refer to the Special Promotions tab within your account. This can also be accessed through g.co/fi/nov28promos.

If you have any questions, you can always reach us by replying directly to this email.

Thanks,

Lee

So basically I bought one for myself, sent an invite to my wife within the time limit but purchased hers out of the time limit. Even though Dan had already reported it as expired, when i bought it through my link, it said the promo was still valid. Before activating it, I called to confirm that it was eligible, and Jason confirmed it. Later, when this new link went up, it didnt say that my wife's was eligible. I called to confirm thatbit was eligible, and they basically said they thought it was but they're escalating the case. Two weeks later I got the second email.

The latest update:

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

We deeply apologize for the miscommunication from support. Unfortunately we are unable to make any exceptions to the promotion due to our current terms.

For the misinformation, I can credit your Fi account with a one-time service credit of $50.00 for the inconvenience.

As stated in the previous email, if all terms are successfully met, your order -------------- should fall under the original promotion.

Please feel free to reply directly to this email if you have any promotional related questions.

Thanks,

Lee

And finally, the latest update:

They agreed to refund that order. A little disappointing but I guess it's better than losing money. I still got one phone thru.

Hi there,
Congrats! You qualified for $200 Fi credit when you signed up for Google Fi on November 28 and met all the promotion terms.
You can find the $200 credit in “Extras this Cycle” on your Account page, and it will apply to your future bills.
Thank you for being part of Google Fi!
