I left the place and then it hit me that I still shoulda left a tip. I still kinda regret it
-1 who says they knew? People do things like this@ random occasionally
Reminds me how when I was newly wed, we went out to eat, and when we asked for the check the waitress told us some random guys paid for us.That never happened to me (and never has since). I felt like such a celebrity. I left the place and then it hit me that I still shoulda left a tip. I still kinda regret it
If they covered your bill they probably tipped too.
What did you regret, that you should have ordered more food?
i think your better off giving 10-20 the first time and then they will treat you better the rest of the stay and then you tip 2-3 every time after
Was curious if anyone has experience hosting a catered meal - Bar Mitzvah, Shabbos Sheva Brachos, etc. Did you tip the waiters? Were the waiters paid a salary in addition to any potential tip? What % did you tip? Was the % based only on the food or did you include the waiters' salaries in the total cost before you calculated the tip?
The owner knew (long story). He gave us a big, loud greeting when we walked in
I feel very uncomfortable not to tip in a luxury hotel.
Who do you tip and how much?
$5-10, yes it adds up as a huge expense for me on so called free nights.
Just the valet or also bellhop?
that and also for the guy who noticed my wife and me sitting on the grass so he came forward with a cup of ice cubes because maybe we would like it.#YouGottaLoveHyatt
that and also for the guy who noticed my wife and me sitting on the grass
why? What happened?
There comes a point when someone is posting such idiocy that you feel an urge to pee in public.
If people were nice, they get a tip (amount depends on the country). If not, they get zero. I'm allergic to people hanging around until you feel uncomfortable and have to tip, so I make a point of not to tip them.
Isn't the tip included in the bill?
Usually the caterer will charge you a set fee per waiter (the set fee is usually not what the waiter gets paid. The caterer takes a cut a lot of times). While there is no obligation to tip the waiters, most people usually tip each waiter ~$15-20. If you feel the waiters went above and beyond, you can always tip more to show your appreciation.
