Flying to MIA/FLL from NYC over Xmas.

Roundtrip cost (Delta or AA) is at a minimum $800.

AA points needed: 80k

Which option to go for?

Also, what premium would you pay to fly out of FLL (DL) over MIA (AA). IINM there's no way to fly nonstop FLL-NYC using AA miles.

I don't care, and I'd be fine flying into one and out of the other (MIA/FLL)

Delta has RT awards flight from LGA-MIA for 52k points. That seems more worth it?

I was looking into this but handful of people warned me about frontier and had very bad experiences with them...

flew recently and had amazing experience.
just keep in mind bags cost and seats are on smaller side.
great exp. LY as well.
ISP is great airport easy and quiet
park at the clarion for 10$ a day and take shuttle over

Check AA saver flights, then once you find a flight search for it on BA if you are using Avios, if not showing on BA then call them with the info to book the flight.
