Not showing any availability for that date range.
search on aa and then call ba to book, as ba has a very poor search engine, but when booking with ba tell them it is not showing online so you will avoid the agent booking fee.

If flights are $800 there won't be any saver awards.

+1

It's not (/never, besides for revenue based programs) about the ticket price.

His issue here is flying over peak travel dates when airlines have blacked-out Saver awards.

Agreed, I wasn't clear in my response. The inflated price is due to the travel dates.

What's the purpose of booking on BA? are their points valuation better? I have AA points, but not Avios points.

Seems my best option is to transfer MR to Delta and use 50k points for a round trip?

Not really, best would be buy 50k DL from your favorite broker (and perhaps sell some Amex to offset your cost).

DL are worth around 1.0.
MR are worth around 1.3.

So you're losing around $150 value transferring your own Amex.

Most ppl outside of ddf are not comfortable with the selling/buying points game.

Feel like guiding me through this? I'm pretty comfortable doing this sort of thing, just need to know where and how.
