Actually if it's private they would have had to fly to a boat in Antarctica. Can't charter a boat for Jews traveling over Shabbos.

From what I recall from our own research.
-Very expensive. (No big deal here).
-Very unreliable schedules due to weather irrops. (I guess you can take the risk if money is no object and you don't have individuals paying their own way).
-Very little baggage allowed. (Seems like they had most stuff brought in on a boat and won't be in Antarctica for very long?)

Or whoever heard of Sheiner's shul / 18 Forshay, that's him too. Not your regular every day type of shul, don't know how to describe it.

It looks like all they did was cruise around King George Island and a couple of the other South Shetlands. They likely flew from Punta Arenas, Chile to King George Island and spent a couple days at sea eating and drinking, then flew back to Chile.

I pity them - no Zodiacs, no polar plunge, no Prime Minister, no 24-hour fast, no Drake crossings, possibly no shore landings or even penguins, and most importantly, no Bing Bong!
