On a serious note. I did that a couple of times on 10-15 hour trips.

#1 the driver is the one that has it easy. Let your wife drive for most of the way.

#2 videos and videogames made the kids cranky after they finished watching/playing whatever it was (at least by me). Use it only when they already are cranky not just bored. And dont stop a video/game in the middle. That's just asking for the kid to start crying. Try getting kids story CDs or download on your phone and connect to your car.

#3 obviously stop off at rest stops for a couple of minutes

#4 have your kids dress in their most comfortable clothing (something like PJs) so they can nap easier.

#5 get one new toy for them to play with (preferably the same so no fights should break out). Something like those stretchy sticky hands that stick to walls would be something that will keep them entertained for around an hour. Coloring book with crayons...

#6 food and some nosh

It's hard, but beat advice would be to leave at 6 or 7PM so they fall asleep and you're good.

Thanks all.
The way there is going to be at bed time but the way back is Monday morning. I don’t want them sleeping as I need them to sleep on Monday night.
My kids happen to get cranky too after watching anything on a phone. Including looking at pictures.

All young kids do. It's a last resort.
