Jobs/careers for non-smartphone users

I have a friend in kollel who just turned 30, I asked him when will he’s start thinking of getting a job, He said he’s starting to think about what he’d like to do, but he has 1 hakpada, that no matter what, he’s not getting a smartphone. I told him good luck on that, doubt you can find any job like that. Now I know that most here will think he’s nuts,  and I really hope this doesn’t turn into another popcorn thread, but I was wondering if anyone could think of any respectable job that you can get by with just a flip phone?

Really?  I don’t mean a job like stocking shelves in a supermarket.
I guess my assumptions are wrong
I myself am still learning in kollel, but I hope a still I have a few years left, before I go job hunting.
I just thought that even a simple job like driving for a car service needs one, for sure a more professional job would require one

Mobile jobs might require Mobile PC's (AKA Smartphones), 9-5 Office jobs usually don't require smart phone access

I just assumed that most bosses make you check your emails 24/7 so you need a smartphone

Sure There are. And not everyone who has a smartphone uses it for work email.

Or more likely people who take  9-to-5 jobs answer emails 24/7 . Once their office gets used to them answering emails at all hours it taken for granted and it’s hard to pull back.

IME regular 9-5 don't require a smartphone. Brokers, entrepreneurs etc. do. Many 9-5 jobs may want you to check in in the evening once or twice, which can be done from a home computer.

If he can have texting, then I'd say most jobs won't mind, even technology jobs, where you need to get alerts, etc. Important things can be set up via texting.
My suggestion is to be open, honest but not condescending when interviewing.

In a way, it's easier for a CEO than a regular employee.

Correct but when the CEOs start to realize the enjoyment on no smartphones they would appreciate it when an employee comes in and says he doesn’t want a smart phone. They understand it
