Cancel/Refund delta award ticket due to injury

I booked a Delta award ticket for my grandmother to go to Israel for my cousin's wedding. But over Yom Tov she fell and broke her kneecap. Is there any way to get the miles refunded without any fees due to the injury? I see that United has something like that for paid tickets but I can't seem to find anything on Delta.

Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had something similar, I had luck calling the corporate customer care and they had me fax a letter from a Dr. and they waived the fees.
