I just did this, I asked them to match top-tier BMI Gold to Tom Tier Velocity Platinum, but they gave me Velocity Gold. Oh well, worth a shot... Still not a bad deal!

Oh, and @Isac, Velocity Gold only gets you Hilton Gold, but there is little difference between that and Hilton Diamond.

Got matched!! Now which status do I take, the ihg platinum or hilton diamond??
And does the year start from when u apply it or when u get the status match??

Status is only valid for 6 months.

Hilton is the better status.

I just saw people mentioning matching to Hilton (which I thought was weird) so thought maybe you could match from hotel statuses...

Applied September 10th. Got it October 12th. so it take about little over 4 weeks. US Air Chairman matched to Platinum.
Now question : How can I request them to send welcome kit with card to USA address and not send it to Australian address? any suggestion?
