Trip to California
« on: June 03, 2009, 12:06:41 PM »
My wife and I would like to take a trip to california for a week or so.neither of us have been there before and were curious to know what to do and where to stay. looking to stay for around 2-3 days out of the 7 in a hotel. this is also a honeymoon/anniversary trip, so a nice romantic hotel or a hotel with nice suites that wont put a huge hole in my pocket would be nice. also any  daily activities or the such.
many thanx in advance!!

first off in LA , they have tons of guest houses which are usually very nice private homes behind the owners house that are used for vacationers. At least in the Orthodox community, and they usually are free. In La you got Santa Monica pier, Universal Studios, Disney Land ) half hour drive), Buy a map of homes in Hollywood and take a paid tour or drive around yourself. Dodger game.

Combine San Diego with LA and stay in the Grant in S.D. on points, it just dropped a category so it's less points now. Also you can purchase a combined 14 day pass for universal and SeaWorld  which is cheaper than buying a one day pass to either park. You can get this on universal website the shipping option sometimes doesn't work so call and they'll tell you to request it at the gate. If you go to Universal and not seaworld buy the express pass at $100 a person definitely worth it you get all the rides in and wont miss shows waiting in line for others. You can purchase the orange county coupon book for under ten bucks online which will have coupons off all major theme parks such as seaworld, universal, disneyland, knottsberry farms, warner etc. etc. For cheaper trip go to La Jolla outside san diego to the seven coves: kayaking on the ocean is unreal! Also look into Catalina Island off the coast absolutey stunning!

If you go to San Diego, you must go to Coronado and rent Segways. I had an amazing time!

My wife and i are planning a trip to San Diego or San Francisco in august.

We have not been to either before.

Does anyone have a recommendation of which we should go to, and some places to go there.

P.S. we are going with a 10 month old child

The water will definitely be too cold in April.

My wife, me and our daughter (who will be 4 months in August) are planning in being in SF then too for 4 days.
Looking in to spending 2 days at the highland Inn in Carmel and 2 in the city.  Plan on taking in a Giants game, Alcatraz, maybe the aquaruim.
