@S209 First EVER Trip to Miami

I’m not going to write this all up now, and I don’t really have many pictures, but I guess this can still be useful information for those of my friends and DDFers who’ve been asking me for my itinerary. I’ll keep adding editing this over the next day or two as I get/lose patience.

The only thing I booked in advance was our Shabbos hotel and flights, rental car, and Shabbos meals tentatively booked, but never gave CC information or confirmed for the meals.

Flew EWR-FLL with DW and baby, with cheap United basic economy tickets booked through UR, on Wednesday night of Chanukah. Attached my Turkish *G and received free luggage, carry-on, and Premier Access, which was very useful when we pulled into the airport 43 minutes before the flight, but they managed to check our luggage anyway. Thank G-d for Pre-Check as well! (If you’re wondering what we did about parking/transportation, we parked our car in Elizabeth right near the Yeshiva and took a $5 Uber from there to our Terminal. Alternate side there is Wednesday, and we flew Wed night-Tues morn).

After our flight was delayed an hour and the baby screaming for a good portion of the night, DW just wanted to grab something to eat and get to sleep. So we picked up our car (Got a fully loaded Impala. Not much, but the free GPS, XM, and Wi-fi was good value for the 7.5K UR it costed for the week, all-in) and headed straight to Grand Cafe, which isn’t Chalav Yisroel, so we had to make do with pareve items. As I’m still trying to maintain a carb-free illusion at this point I got a tuna platter and she got a hummus platter, which came with pitas and salad. Chumus was HEAVEN, seriously haven’t tasted better chummus even in Israel. Everything else was ok, bit expensive but it’s Florida. Booked us a room at the Hyatt Place across the street for the night, lit Menorah, put the baby in, ate our food, and went straight to sleep.
