More details?
I got in an accident on the Van Wyck a few weeks ago (posted about it somewhere here). Cops came and said I have to use the highway's tow service and couldn't call my own. The tow truck driver said normally AAA and the like will reimburse people for his services. After things quieted down, I called AMEX Roadside Asst. and was told that someone would call me back to follow up. 2 weeks later, I called back and they had no record of my first call. (CLASSSSIC) They also told me that they don't do reimbursements even on a restricted roadway where I couldn't have called them to send a tow truck even if I wanted to. I put up a little bit of a fight and they said someone will call me back from some supervisor team (or something like that). A little while later, I got a call from someone who said they really don't do reimbursements, but because of the hassle and how long it took for this issue to be resolved, he would cut me a check for $50. Better than nothing.
