Anyone have any information about the different eruvs in Yerushalayim? I know there is one from the Rabanut as well as one from Badatz. What are the boundaries? Anyone with a map or link to one? I found an old map of the rabanut one but nothing else.Thanks.
they have a map hanging outside meah shearim shtieblach, if you ever find yourself in the area
Seriously? Rabanut and badatz eruvs too?I can't wrap my head around all this.
it basically boils down to the fact that the badatz doesnt put any faith in the rabbanut. many hold the same view. so if they need an eruv, they need to put one up.
Yet the whole thing is crazy, because I know someone in Israel (whose knowledge I greatly respect), that often won't eat in a Badatz (assuming we're talking Eidah Chareidis here) restaurant, but will eat in some Rabbanut non-Mehadrin places.
yeah, youve mentioned that before. your friend is an anomaly, nobody else like him in the world
Wow, good memory. lol I bet he has friends who follow like him.
Is it becuase of religious resaons or his own personal agenda?
Yet the whole thing is crazy,
It may very well be crazy but remember that your lack of understanding in the matter is not what constitutes something as crazy
FWIU, He's very learned and in the kashrus "know", and knows things about certain places that keep him from eating there and about other places that let him eat there even under Rabbanut.Sorry just terminology. Of course I know that.
